Respect!

I don’t like to write short posts but respect must be shown when it’s due. We need to hear more stories, heck if no one else, I need to hear more stories like this. Stories like the ones below keep me going:

1) Joseph Lekuton: A parable for Kenya

2) Magdalene Odundo

3) Julius Nyerere and the Arusha declaration

4) Whoever doesn’t think that South African vocalists aren’t the greatest vocalists in African history should be exiled. Need proof check out the African Mamas; listen to the sample tracks and tell me they don’t light you up.

Finally support a great African initiative that rose out of the Kenya post-election violence: Ushahidi. You can do so by visiting this post written by the White African

Be blessed and bless others, Mwangi

Thanks for highlighting Magdalene and her work, Mwangi. She is so very talented and yet so self-effacing, success has not gone to her head.

Ps.s I enjoyed listening to Joseph Lekuton – the comments below his presentation are very illuminating. I wish there were more people in the world like him.

    Hey mshairi,
I am with you there! I wish there were more people like him to. Where could I get more info on Magdalene? Does she have a personal website or blog?
